The three-in-a-row classic on a 3x3 grid, playable against the computer or a friend. It looks simple, and with perfect play it always ends in a draw, so the fun is in spotting the moment your opponent slips. A round takes under a minute, which makes it easy to play again and again.
Players take turns placing their mark, X or O, in an empty square. The first player to get three marks in a row, column or diagonal wins. If all nine squares fill up without a line, the round is a draw.
Mouse or Touch: click or tap an empty square to place your mark.
Get three of your marks in a straight line before your opponent does.
Take the center square if it is free, since it belongs to the most winning lines. If your opponent has the center, take a corner. Always check whether your opponent is one move from winning before building your own line, and look for moves that create two threats at once.
